Dr. Ormston is my hero. I have had other chiropractors work on my horses and have not seen the results that I have seen from Dr. Ormston. My jumper has always jumped landing slightly to the left and has also had a very bad mouth. Immediately after Dr. Ormstons first visit he started jumping very straight with great follow through from his back-end and he was much better with his mouth. In fact, the first show we went to we won all three Junior/Amateur jumper classes as well as the Junior/Amateur Classic. I also have a very fancy Conformation/2nd year Green Hunter. She has always been very sound but would carry stress in her shoulders at the shows. She has incredible form over the jumps, but has always landed slightly shallow after the jump and not really wanting to push away from the jump after landing. She is now landing correctly after the jump and moves fluidly away from the jump allowing her to get down the line. A boarders horse has been lame in its back right hind leg and has very stiff movement throughout his body. He is an ex-racehorse. We have had a vet look at this mysterious lameness and have taken ex-rays, but could not really come up with the cause of the lameness. Dr. Ormston did a lot of adjustments from head to toe on this particular horse. He was especially out of adjustment in his back right leg. The lameness has disappeared. The added bonus is that Dr. Ormston is also an equine veterinarian which I believe is a great asset to the horse. He has full knowledge of the internal organs as well as the skeletal and muscular mechanics of the horse. Because he is a vet, he is very familiar with all types of lameness and the movement of the horse. I also like his holistic approach to medicines. And, to top it all off…he did a great job adjusting my corgi!

Dear Dr. O,
I really must comment on your wonderful treatment! Before we tried your chiropractic treatment on my APHA gelding, he was irritable and not performing at maximum ability. But little did we know how excellent your work could be! At first, we were incredulous, but afterwards, he was doing all sorts of maneuvers with a better attitude! Thanks to you, we are always in the ribbons. I recommend you to anybody who needs a kind, smart, and talented horse chiropractor.
Thanks! Sarah Hoffman & Larabee (“Larry”)
Dr. Ormston is now one of the family! He's made such a difference in the life and health of our girls. Greta, our 9 1/2 year old boxer was having major hip problems and could no longer get up and down without a lot of stress and limping, and sometimes walking on only 3 legs. She was obviously in a lot of pain. Her eyes were also very foggy and it looked as if she had severe cataracts. After just one visit, I was astounded by the significant improvement! Her eyes completely cleared. Her hips and back were no longer in pain. She was walking, and even running, like she was 2 years old again. We were ecstatic! After such wonderful success with Greta, I decided to take our 2 year old boxer Golda in for an adjustment. The adjustments have helped her skin allergies and also seem to help calm her puppy energy. We get regular adjustments from our chiropractor and our girls now get regular adjustments from their chiropractor. We're very grateful and blessed to have Dr. Ormston as part of our family health care plan! The Lieblings Larry, Kim, Greta and Golda
My purpose for taking Tooey to the Canine Chiropractic Clinic was to increase his mobility. He has been trained in obedience and competed in agility. At the time, Tooey was nine years old. He was unable to lay comfortably in a fetal position and he didn’t raise his tail much. (As some Shar-pei age, their tails do not curl over the back so I considered that acceptable.) When I got him home after his first adjustment, he began prancing around the yard and carrying his tail up. That evening for the first time in many months, he crawled up on the bed and curled up in a fetal position. The look on his face was of pure pleasure! He actually had a smile on his face!
During Tooey’s visit, Dr. Ormston noticed that Tooey was experiencing some allergy issues. Tooey has always had allegories in March through the first part of May and then again in September and October. My normal treatment for him would be Benedryl and Avenno Oatmeal baths. I wasn’t aware that chiropractic adjustments could also help him with his allergies.
Since Tooey’s first adjustment, I try to get him adjusted every month and longer than 6 weeks between adjustments. In the 18 months or so, Tooey has increased his mobility and very rarely has allergies. Now, if I go longer than 6 weeks, he will experience allergy issues. Tooey, also, hasn’t experienced as many ear problems. (Shar-pei also can have chronic ear problems.) And I’ve noticed that he less incontinent with adjustments. When I have gone longer than 6 weeks between adjustments, he has accidents in the house. So, with one adjustment a month, 4 problems, maybe more, have been fixed.
Age can be very cruel to our animals. Tooey is considered to be old. Chinese Shar-pei average life span is 10-12 years. I firmly believe that Tooey’s quality of life has increased with chiropractic care.
** On February 23, 2005, Dr. Ormston presented Canine Chiropractic to the Texas Kennel Club. His PowerPoint presentation was very informative. The presentation was presented in “laymen’s” terms not veterinarian gibberish. I could see “lightbulbs turning on” in the audience. The majority of the audience, although all are breeders and competitively showing dogs, didn’t understand biomechanics of their canines nor the benefit of chiropractic care. Now, they have questions about “what if.” This presentation opens up a whole new area regarding the quality of our canine’s health, performance and prepares us for the next level.
Dr. Ormston is very personable and open to taking questions from the floor without making people feel stupid.

(Sorry, I’m not a writer. I do a lot better job in person. TKC would not have had an open mind to inviting you to do our first presentation in many years, had I not sold you to Libby.)
Testimony on Quick York
Quick is a smooth coat Jack Russell Terrier. Quick was always a very sweet puppy who loved everyone and was always getting in to trouble – fearless and ready to please. When Quick was 4 months old a small bump appeared on his side which I assumed was a bug bite. Unfortunately it grew fast and wasn’t getting better. I took him to my vet who suggested removal to do a biopsy to see what it was. Thankfully it was not cancerous and he was diagnosed as having a Histiocytoma (a tumor in dogs generally under 3 that is non-cancerous). During the recovery of the surgery, Quick had to wear an Elizabethan collar (or also known as the e-collar or “lamp shade”). We laughed at his antics in the e-collar. Running into walls and banging down the hall. He was undaunted by the big shade on his head and would scrape your legs as you walked. We dubbed him “crash”. Soon he was healed and the e-collar could be removed. We were happy and I know he was relieved – no more doctoring, no more not being able to see what was coming or where he was going. Shortly after we felt like things had got back to normal, 6 weeks or so, we noticed another Histiocytoma growing slightly above where the other one was removed. We started putting Animax ointment and Benadryl on it, again having him wear the e-collar to keep from picking on it. Within I guess 6-8 weeks it was gone and again we took the collar off. Then I noticed that he had another one on his testicle. This one seemed to cause him more trouble than ever. Back to the e-collar and medicines. This time we started using Benadryl by mouth. No results. 3 months passed and although the Histiocytoma was not changing, Quick was. Suddenly Quick seemed to not be the happy-go-lucky pup he always was. He didn’t want to go jump in peoples laps and be loved. He started biting. Within a 2 week period of time, he bit 5 times. That is when I realized we had to find out what was wrong. This was not normal. I was beside myself with worry and concern – how could a lovable sweet puppy undergo such a transformation. I took him to my vet and we did blood tests, x-rays, and then I decided to have him chiropractically adjusted. I took him to Dr. Ormston and sure enough he was out of adjustment quite significantly. His right atlas was out. What was so amazing was his transformation after adjusting. He was back to sitting in laps, licking, playing with the other dogs immediately. Because of the severity of the problem, and the length of time he had to wear the e-collar (I realized he had worn it on and off from 4 months – 1 year of age), Quick is requiring more frequent adjusting than most dogs normally do. But most importantly, I have realized that some people would have labeled Quick an aggressive dog and had him put to sleep. But in reality, he is just a dog that having had to wear something unnatural on his neck, restrictive and heavy, plus banging it into walls and crates, has been in some type of pain that is being relieved by chiropractic treatment. There seems to be some mental duress also from the pain – if you touch me it will hurt, or I hurt so I can’t let you touch me. Dr. Jackie Doval is also helping me by suggesting some conditioning program and exercises that will also help in his recovery. I am relieved that although not over yet, Quick has benefited and will be able to benefit from Chiropractic care. Without it, I would have possibly had to medicate him, or worse yet put him to sleep because of him biting someone. I owe Dr. Ormston and Doval and the profession of Chiropractic medicine a big thanks.
